Pim Wangtechawat Shortlisted for Women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia 2026

Pim Wangtechawat has been shortlisted in the Arts & Culture category of the Women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia 2026.

The Women of the Future Awards were founded in the UK by Pinky Lilani CBE DL, and the Southeast Asia edition was the programme’s first awards outside the UK. The awards are open to women aged 35 or under from across the region, and five candidates are shortlisted in each category. The programme says it aims to deepen and broaden the female talent pool and build a global network of women who inspire and mentor one another. Shortlisted candidates and winners both gain access to that network.

The winners will be revealed at the awards show on 26 November at voco Orchard in Singapore.

Wangtechawat is the author of two novels published by OneWorld Publications. Her debut, The Moon Represents My Heart (2023), has been translated into Thai, Spanish, Italian and other languages. Her second, I Dreamed of You (2026), is a romance set in Bangkok and Edinburgh. She has also given writing workshops and talks at schools and universities around the world. Her work centres on stories that reflect shared humanity and bring more Asian narratives to the forefront of literature.

Reflecting on the news, Wangtechawat said: “Growing up, my dream of becoming an author has always been fuelled by a desire to make a positive impact in people’s lives. But I never thought I’d ever be up for an award, especially alongside incredible women who are doing such inspiring work. I deeply appreciate this recognition and will do my best to keep making my little corner of the world a better place through these words I’m writing.”
